This is a complete-at-time-of-writing, regularily updated list of demos, intros or related things which I wrote a part or most of. Ordered chronologically, newest to oldest. Things released as “Saint Vincent and the Grenadines”, my demo group, are marked with “[SVatG]”. If you’re going to watch any videos, I’d recommend watching the live ones, when available, to get some of the the party feeling. :)
In my opinion, our best release thus far is “It’s 1975 and this man is about to show you the future”, followed closely by:
Heinrich-Siegfried Viktor [SVatG]
3rd place in Revision 2011 wild compo.
A demo with lots and lots of Siegfried and powered by Unicorns.
- code: WAHa_06x36, halcy
- music: coda
- gfx: Vee
video (youtube) / pouet / binary (NDS) / nfo
The Last Cubinator [SVatG]
6th place in TuM 2010 gamedev compo.
2 player networked “shoot the other person” game.
- code: halcy
- sound: Saga_Musix
live video (youtube) / pouet / binary (Windows) / nfo
jules [SVatG]
3rd place in TuM 2010 4k compo.
4D julia set raymarcher in less than 1022 byte. Unremarkable compofiller to make sure the 4k compo at tuM 2010 happens. (It looks cooler live than in the screenshot, though, and makes a very good screensaver)
- code: halcy
live video (youtube) / pouet / binary (Windows) / nfo
oh yeah xmas 2010 &c &c
Not released at a party.
2010 christmas greeting card scroller~
- code: halcy
- music: Nobuyuki
It’s 1975 and this man is about to show you the future [SVatG]
2nd place in Evoke 2010 alt platform / real wild compo.
Another NDS release, this time thrown together entirely during Evoke 2010 in a single, 16 hour night coding marathon, after having worked the whole previous day and then driven to the party place. I felt dead afterwards. It was worth it. (I feel this is our best release, yet.)
- code: halcy, WAHa_06x36
- music:
some kind of evil fucking geniuscoda
live video (youtube) / video (youtube) / pouet / binary (NDS) / nfo
Five Dollar Plastic Laminator [SVatG]
9th place in Breakpoint 2010 4k intro compo.
Uses the same rendering tech as Four Dollar Plastic Laminator (plus some bug fixing), but now has music and much prettier things to render, plus a sudden mandelbrot appearance.
- code: halcy, WAHa_06x36
- music: Mr. CQNZR
video (capped) / pouet / binary (Windows) / nfo
And a happy new year
Not released at a party.
New-years-greetings modified and much improved version of OPS27. Now with starfield, and moving light and camera, and cooler music.
- code: halcy
- music: yogi
video (youtube) / video (mp4) / binary (Linux x64)
Four Dollar Plastic Laminator [SVatG]
3rd place in the Ultimate Meeting 2009 pc 4k compo.
Distance field raymarcher, one kilobyte in size. Turned out very pretty for 1k, in my opinion. The sunrise scene was the best happy accident ever.
- code: halcy, WAHa_06x36
pouet / video (youtube) / binary (Linux x64)
Puc McAwesome [SVatG]
1st place in the Ultimate Meeting 2009 gamedev compo.
Made at the party in a few hours time, using pacman sprites by roB3rnd and abhorrentawesome music by yogi and me made on a long drive when bored using only the NDSs mic and nitrotracker.
- code: halcy
- music: yogi, halcy
- gfx: roB3rnd
Deerview3D Christmas Edition
Not released at a party.
- code: halcy
- music: Nobuyuki
video (youtube) / binary (Linux x64, needs sound from source package) / source
The Strongest Demo [SVatG]
11th place in Breakpoint 2009 alt platform / real wild demo compo.
First actual demo. Horrible pacing, but some pretty effects for the Nintendo DS. Also, kickass music by coda.
- code: halcy, WAHa_06x36
- music: coda
- gfx: Vee
live video (youtube) / video (youtube) / pouet / binary (NDS)
DOUBLE DEER [SVatG]
Not released at a party.
libaa DEER INTRO. (Oh god what)
- code: halcy
- music: Nobuyuki
- deer: pihl
Orbital Platform Sugar Two Seven
Not released at a party.
A simple raycaster, which renders everything in rasterbars because why not.
- code: halcy
- music: yogi
